God’s words.

Well everyone, I was ready to write about the woman of God who gave a powerful message with the title of “How to believe in God (I believe in God)”, but the Holy Spirit intervened.  I was praying for God to give me direction and His words to write and describe to you the powerful message delivered to our church, but the Holy Spirit had other ideas.  He told me to put that post on hold because He wanted to expand on the message about God’s words.  So as directed, that is what this post will be about.  Here it is God’s “Ad hoc” post about “His spoken words”.

On the last post, we discussed about keeping God’s words in your mouth as we walked through the valley of our trials.  This must be very important to God right at this moment.  As I mentioned before, He has been whispering these very words to me for a couple of months now.  He has been cautioning me every time I was about to speak words that were not appropriate to utter.  He would remind me about the words I was about to speak into existence.  Think about that for a minute or so.  The words we speak out of our mouths become our future.  They leave our lips and permeate the air, bringing with it the cultivation of either blessings or curses.  Wow!!!!!  Do you need proof?  I understand.  It is sometimes hard to understand or even comprehend that the mere words we speak become the future for us, our family members or whomever we are speaking about.  I have the proof.  God would not just make these types of statements without the proof to back it up.

In Isaiah 55:11, God’s word says: so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. See this says that God’s words cannot return void to Him.  Those spoken words have to be fulfilled.  If God’s words cannot return void, do you think our words are any different?

In Romans 4:17, God speaks about calling those things that are not as though they were. There is the proof.  See speaking things into existence is basically calling your future into existence.  That is amazing!  We can call the things God created us to be into existence.  We simply speak the opposite of what our current situation actually is.  If someone is sick and in the hospital, they speak that by Jesus’ stripes they ARE healed (Isaiah 53:5).  If someone has no money and has no idea how they are going to buy groceries, they simply say I am blessed to be a blessing (2 Corinthians 9:6).  God’s blessings are a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over in my life (Luke 6:38).  I have more than enough.

God’s word says in Hosea4:6: 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will].   What does that mean?  It means that God is a God of laws, order and process.  His laws are written in His word.  The written words of God are so powerful that even God Himself cannot change or alter them.  That is why He says this about His own word (the Holy Bible) Isaiah 40:8: The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

In simple terms, since we do not know God’s word, we have chosen to perish.  I know what you are thinking.  You are saying “Whoa, wait a minute, I haven’t chosen anything”.  In essence we all have made choices without the realization of doing so.  See God’s word says that our lack of knowledge brings the choice of perishing.  We make a choice everyday to live for God or not.  Yes, it is a choice we choose daily.   We either choose to live for God or not.  It  IS that simple.  See we think that God is complicated, but He isn’t.  I think some of us use that as an excuse saying God’s way is too complicated.  You are either for Him or against Him.  Now that IS super simple.  I don’t know about you, but I choose to be for Him.

We have to “Stop the madness” as someone once quoted, but it fits perfectly in this context.  How do we do that?  We do it with God of course.  He is the ONLY way we can stop this madness.  It is time to refocus.  Refocus and replace the unimportant things in our lives with the important things.

In saying all of that, we come back to the first step that God wants us to take to accomplish that goal – our spoken words.  Our spoken words are powerful.  Think of all the sayings we hear used everyday.  There is the saying “think about what you are saying because you can’t take it back” “think before you speak” etc.  Here is how God speaks of the spoken word.  In Psalms 37:30 God’s word says: The mouth of the righteous proclaims wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice and truth. In Proverbs 13:3, God’s word says this: The one who guards his mouth [thinking before he speaks] protects his life; The one who opens his lips wide [and chatters without thinking] comes to ruin. In Luke 6:45 it says this: The [intrinsically] good man produces what is good and honorable and moral out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart; and the [intrinsically] evil man produces what is wicked and depraved out of the evil [in his heart]; for his mouth speaks from the overflow of his heart.  Wow, that is powerful.  That passage is saying that the words we speak are a reflection of what our heart contains.  Again, it’s made simple and not complicated.  So in essence, do we need to change our hearts to change our words? The answer is “Yes”.

God’s word also goes on to say these things about the spoken word which is the most incredible of all.  He says we speak life or death and blessings or curses with our words.  See, here is another place where it is one thing or the other.  No gray areas. Did you see what that said?  We speak blessings or curses with our tongue.  Our words carry either life or death.  Man that is incredibly powerful stuff!  I know you need proof.  Here it is.  It says in God’s word   Proverbs 18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. In James 3:10 it says this: 10 Out of the same mouth come both blessing and cursing.

Every word we speak out from our mouth has consequences.  WE have to decide if the consequences we speak will be good or bad.  The words spoken from our mouth becomes our or our loved ones future.  Please take a moment to think about what God is trying to say to us.  Have you ever heard a mother say to her son for example: “You are just like your father.”  “You are going to turn out just like him (his father)”.  “You will end up in prison or worse dead”.  If this young man accepts what is being spoken into his heart & mind, then he has accepted this lie of the enemy.  His mother has just spoken a curse over his life.

Those are negative words (curses) spoken into existence over that particular young man and over his future by his own mother.  Stop for a moment and think about all the words you have spoken just last week.  Were they negative or positive words?  Now, think about ALL the words spoken in our lifetime.  Wow!  That is really something to stop and think about.  How many negative words have we uttered into existence over ourselves, our families and our friends?  We have to stop this madness.

Are you wondering what you can do about someone speaking curses against you?  There is an answer.  God and the blood of our precious savior Jesus is the answer. You can apply the powerful blood that was shed on the cross by Christ over every negative spoken word.  If someone is trying to say negative things about you right to your face, refuse it!  Do not accept their curses into your heart and mind.  Respond right back to them saying aloud “I do NOT accept what you are saying about my life and future. That is NOT God’s plan for my life.  I do NOT receive those lies”.  That is what they are.  They are spoken lies trying to entrap your heart, your mind, your spirit and your future.  REFUSE it!!!!   Be bold.  Speak boldly that you know that this is NOT God’s plan for your life.  God says He comes to give us life and give it more abundantly.  So these negative words do NOT line up with God’s words and plan for you. We combat the lies of the enemy by speaking God’s word back to the enemy.  That is how Jesus fought Satan when Satan was trying to temp Him during Jesus’ 40 day fast.  Jesus fought him verbally with the word of God. Every item Satan tempted Jesus with a particular thing or item, Jesus responded by saying “It is written” followed by God’s word.

God’s word is our weapon to combat and defeat the enemy!!!! Now that is a statement and a half.  That is how God describes His own INCREDIBLE written word.  In Ephesians 6:17 God describes His word as a sword (a weapon).  Remember God says we perish for lack of knowledge.  As evidence, please think for a moment where your bible is right at this moment.  Is it somewhere collecting dust?  Do you own a bible?  Our lack of knowledge of His provided weapon causes us to live a diminished life.  Here is something key to know and remember.  God’s word is so incredible that our enemy knows it by heart.  He knows the bible front and back.

So now that we know what God’s word says about the tongue and words, let’s summarize what we need to refocus on:

A) We have to change our hearts. The words we speak are an overflow of what our hearts hold. We have to pray and ask God to change our hearts.  We cannot change our hearts or our words by ourselves.  This requires God’s help because He is the only one who can make this possible.  Here is something you may not realize.  God can do that for our loved ones too.  This is possible through our intercessory prayer.  Again, prayer is our way of asking for God’s help with a certain situation in our lives.  Intercessory prayer is in essence standing in the “place” of our loved ones.  Through intercessory prayer, we ask God to help someone else.  Also, remember we also have the right to pray for our loved ones, especially those under our authority like our children (and even our hairy babies).

B) We have to train our words and be mindful of what words are being spoken from our lips. Do they contain life or death? We have to keep God’s word in our mouth, especially when we are going through a trial. We have to speak victory and blessings into existence.  Things may look bleak and hopeless during a current situation but we have to speak God’s word to overcome our situation.  See when we are speaking God’s word, our focus is REFOCUSED onto God and not on our situation.

C) We have to place God back into the most important place in our lives – 1st place. When we do this, we will see every aspect of our lives come into line with God. This is evident in God’s word. In Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

D) We MUST destroy every negative word ever spoken over our lives. We do that by applying the POWERFUL blood of Jesus over these curses. See our culture thinks it has made the name of Jesus “weak” by using it in vain, but the devil is a liar!!!  The blood of Jesus will NEVER lose its power.

It’s a simple prayer.  We ask God almighty to break and destroy every curse ever spoken over our lives with the blood that was shed on the cross.  The blood shed by our beloved Savior demolishes every curse, plot and plan that may have been spoken against us.  Once again, remember we have the authority to destroy the spoken curses over our loved ones too (hairy babies too).

In closing, I pray that God will help you focus on His words and give the realization of the words you are about to speak into existence.  Do they contain life or death? I pray that He will give you a hunger for His written word. Also, that He will be placed back into 1st place in our lives.  Remember to P.U.S.H (Pray until something happens).  Prayer changes everything!  God Bless you all.
