God’s words (pt.2)

In my previous post, God wanted to expand on His spoken word.  Again, He intends to expand on this same topic.  Our spoken words have power!  This subject was previously discussed in the post titled “God’s Words.”  Understanding that our words have power is imperative for us to comprehend.  We need to “get” this into our minds, hearts, and spirits.  We either speak life and blessings OR death and curses into our lives and over the lives of the people we care about and love.  We have to make a conscious decision that we are going to speak only blessings and life with our words.  We have to make our word filter work overtime.  Like the woman of God recently told our congregation, we have to TRAIN our hearts and minds to speak God’s words.  His words always contain life and blessings.

Can you grasp that we have the ability and power to change our current situations?  If you are unhappy about the path your life is taking, change it.  REFOCUS on God so He can do this for you.  See you have to understand that God can bring about a change in our lives that we could never attain.  We can accomplish ordinary things, BUT God brings EXtraordinary change.  Anytime you hear the phrase “But God,” it means something incredible is on the verge of happening.

Those words get me excited!  Every time I hear that phrase “But God,” my spirit jumps with joy and excitement.  Think about it for a couple of minutes.  Someone could be facing a divorce in their marriage, but God stepped in and restored their marriage.  Someone could be facing a long prison term, but God stepped in and gave them the favor and their punishment was reduced.  Someone could be facing cancer, but God stepped in and completely healed and restored their body.  Someone could have lost their job, and they don’t know how they are going to pay their rent and buy food for their family, but God stepped in and provided a way for them to receive their needed funds.

How do these situations turn around?  How do we bring about a “But God’ moment in our situations?  It happens through direct prayer, intercessory prayers, by reading God’s word and by speaking those things that aren’t as though they were.  God needs us to speak those impossible changes into existence and then believe in our hearts that we receive those turnarounds.  Remember what Pastor Jacobs listed as the things  we need to remember about God?  This was in the post titled “I Believe.”  God wants us blessed and fruitful.  Isn’t a happy and successful marriage going to make you happier?  Of course, it is.  Isn’t a happy and prosperous relationship with your loved ones going to bring you joy?  Of course, it will.  That is what God wants for all of us.  Never forget the sacrifice our Savior paid for us to have life and have it more abundantly.

Our words have to reflect blessing and life.  Our words have to be God’s words.  When we examine ourselves, we see flaws.  “But God” sees us the way He created us to be.  God sees us through love and perfection.  When God sees us, He doesn’t see flaws.  Where you see flaws, He sees opportunities to reveal His glory.

Again, remember that God is a God of laws and process.  We have to use His word, His convictions, our prayer and our spoken words to have a “but God” moment in our situations.  I know that it may seem difficult to change our way of speaking and thinking, but it has to happen to bring about change.  “But God,” says all things are possible through Christ Jesus.  We need to ask for His help to bring the changes our hearts are desiring.  We want to change and know we need to create change but saying and doing are two different things.

Let’s face it.  Most of us are fearful of change “But God” does not operate in fear.  A lot of us desire change in some part of our lives, but we fear how that change will alter our lives.  The change will always disrupt our lives in some way, shape or form, but a change for God will always be a huge improvement.  Whether we change some things ourselves or ask God to bring about supernatural change, there will be a disruption.  If there will be disruption either way, then I would rather have God’s change.  Besides, wouldn’t you rather receive supernatural change then a natural change?  I would.

I used to blurt out things into existence without thinking about the consequences of my words.  I knew I had to make a change.  I desired it, and I prayed about it.  I asked God to convict me about my spoken words.  I asked Him to forgive my past spoken curses.  I desired forgiveness and change in my own heart.  Now, He convicts me when I am about to say something I shouldn’t.  Again, it is my choice.  I can always choose which way and path I want to take.  That is how amazing God is. He gave us free will.  Free will to always make choices.

I know that it may be confusing and weird.  It is kind of like always saying the opposite of what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears.  Ask God to help you focus on the supernatural.  We see and do things in the natural “But God” operates in the supernatural.  Our spoken words have to reflect His supernatural abilities.  How incredible is it to always see things in the supernatural like God does?

Let me give you a scenario of someone seeking God’s supernatural abilities.  Let’s say that there is a woman who’s marriage is on the verge of breaking up.  She starts to focus on God and seeks a change via prayer.  She begins to read God’s holy word to focus on God’s way of restoring broken things.  She starts speaking words aloud to bring a “But God” turnaround in her marriage.  Her words are uttered aloud for God, herself and the enemy to hear.  These are words of restoration spoken into existence instead of words of destruction.  She says “thank you God that my marriage is renewed, restored and flourishing.” She says “thank you God that my husband is a man of God and always puts you first.”  She says ” thank you God and let our love for each other be renewed and restored.”  She says “thank you God that we respect each other again.”

All these words spoken into existence are supernatural words God will use to restore her marriage. God hears His words of restoration being spoken to Him, He hears her prayers and sees her heart moving closer to Him through her seeking His written word.  All of those things touch God!  It moves Him to have a supernatural encounter with Him.  Those words she spoke aloud builds her faith, and her heart receives them as being the truth.  Most of all the enemy hears her blessings spoken into existence.

Will these changes in her marriage happen instantly?  That depends on God.  We have to be realistic.  We must pursue God.  He wants us to keep seeking Him.  The last thing we want to do is to receive our God changing blessing then revert to our old ways.  God wants us to pursue Him with excitement and fervor.

Be prepared for people to think you have gone looney tunes.  Us seeing things in God’s supernatural way will make us seem very odd to others.  This woman may receive comments from people saying that she has lost it and that she needs to throw in the towel because her marriage is over.  Her husband may even think these same things about her “But God” will honor her diligence, faithfulness, and the pursuit of Him.

In closing, I want to pray with you.  If there is a change that you desire God to transform somewhere in your life, please pray this with me.  Remember pray aloud for God, your heart and spirit and also the enemy to hear. Words spoken aloud can be a whisper, but they need to be uttered out.  If you need to be discrete, then even a whisper will work. Remember words spoken in your mind, cannot be heard by the enemy.

“Dear God, please forgive me for words I have spoken into existence that brought about curses and destruction in my life.  I break every spoken curse over my life and the lives of my family.  I plea the precious blood of Jesus over our lives.  I break every spoken curse, every plot of the enemy over my life and the lives of my family.  God, please help me change my behavior.  My behavior is holding me back from becoming the person I know you created me to be.  Convict me, Holy Spirit, every time I am about to utter words of destruction, death or curses over my life or the lives of my loved ones.  God help me change by behavior regarding _________.  I am not happy with it anymore, and I know it is displeasing to you too.  God help me to speak the supernatural into every aspect of my life.  Help me pursue and desire you in every aspect of my life.  God, I need you to be the center of my life.  I need to REFOCUS on you.  Thank you, God.  In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.

If you are seeking to have a relationship with the King of Kings, then there is another prayer God wants to extend to you.  Maybe you were once close to God but have moved away from him.  Then this prayer is for you.  Please pray with me.  “Dear Father, please forgive me for my sins.  God, please cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus.  I know Christ died on the cross for me.  I know He was crucified, buried and then arose on the third day.  I know He ascended and now sits on the right hand of God.  I receive Jesus as my savior.  Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, then you are reborn as a child of God.  Pursue Him, His word and His Holy presence.  Pray to God to help you locate a faith-filled place of worship.

God bless each and every one of you.  I pray that your pursuit of God will fill your life with an abundance of joy and happiness too big to contain.
